Feedback

This integration is apparently dead for versions 6.x or greater of pi-hole API due to changes there. The owner hasn’t seemed to respond publicly to needed changes and it appears abandoned.

Hey there @shenxn, mind taking a look at this feedback as it has been labeled with an integration (pi_hole) you are listed as a code owner for? Thanks!

Sad face :(
Ill never understand why coders keep intentionally breaking there software. Look its way better now, it just wont work anymore.,

Yeah, same for me... definitely not working with Pi-Hole 6.0.5. @huseman21 - Pretty sure it's not "intentionally breaking" things, sometimes you need to make breaking changes to make improvements. Just need the integration to get updated.

It is what changed on Pi-Hole side that broke it. I hope a new one is made.

Yes, this integration should be marked for V5.x. There are other issues that have been opened for the need to provide a V6.x solution. Issue #130245 is the main one. There's also #138927, #140306, #142124, and several others that have been closed as duplicates. Unfortunately, this is the one that you find from the "view pending feedback" link on the integration page.

The code owner hasn't responded. However, the Pi-Hole v6 documentation provides code for Home-assistant to setup a switch for enable / disable blocking. https://docs.pi-hole.net/guides/misc/homeassistant/
If you look at their API documentation it doesn't look like it would be hard to expand their Home-assistant example code to bring in other information from the API.
