Description
I updated my hoobs from within the Mac app from version 4.1.11 to 4.1.20. after the update was complete, the version info did not reflect the new version number so I restarted the machine. Now I am unable to get to the GUI in the app or via browser. The app keeps telling me it is an invalid IP address. HOOBS is not working and all hoobs related devices show unresponsive in the HomeKit app

Post your config
Can't seem to find this in my current situation. I can get to the config files for each bridge/plugin in the "/var/lib/hoobs/" dir but they're all separate as opposed to one solid json file.

Post your log

Does your router see the HOOBS device? It can be possible that your router assigned a new ip adress.
Please check if you are able to connect via IP adress in your browser.

If not try IPAdress:9090
There will be a login prompt and follow these instructions:

The hoobs device is the iMac and it has a static IP. Router sees it. I have tried the IP:9090 in the browser as well as hoobs.local and neither option works. This is what I get when I attempt the above fix in Terminal on the iMac:

chmod: /root/hoobs-fix.sh: No such file or directory
touch: /root/hoobs-fix.log: No such file or directory
bash: line 6: /root/hoobs-fix.log: No such file or directory
tail: /root/hoobs-fix.log: No such file or directory

Use the MacOS HOOBS installer package:

https://github.com/hoobs-org/image/releases/download/v4.1.20/hoobs-v4.1.20-darwin.pkg

I am using that. I have tried reinstalling it since the update. It's not working. When it loads, it says no devices found and even I click advanced and enter the IP address it says invalid ip.

We will check if the HOOBs Desktop app searches for a localhost installed HOOBS.

Thank you! Is there a way to downgrade to the previous version in the meantime so I can get my homekit running again?

Or, I made a backup from within the app prior to upgrading it. I tried restoring that via the terminal, and it said it successfully completed, but the desktop Mac app still doesn't see/recognize the IP.

Is there something else I can try using the backup file to get it going on 4.1.20?

I am looking into this.

Thank you mkellsy! I really appreciate the work you guys do on hoobs!

Looks Like I got it going for now. I deleted all mentions of "hoobs" on the Mac (after copying the hoobs folder and my backup file to a temp folder on my desktop) and uninstalled the app. Then I installed the 4.1 Damien package and reinstalled the app (v4.1.20). Once the app recognized the new hoobs service, I created a new account and then restored my backup from within the UI. Everything seems to be working as it was before after the restore completed. I'll update if I have further issues, but probably still worth looking into why the update from within the app caused all of this.

Thanks!
