There is a problem with your documentation at
http://matplotlib.org/1.3.0/users/installing.html#general-instructions
for installing matplotlib 1.3.0. It says that I need only Python, numpy as prerequisites but that is incorrect. I also had to install dateutil and pyparsing.

I installed on WIndows 7 and the instructions for windows at
http://matplotlib.org/1.3.0/users/installing.html#installing-on-windows
also said I needed numpy

I downloaded matplotlib1.3.0 for Python 3.3 for 32-bit Python from your download page at http://matplotlib.org/downloads.html
