Problem

• go to the https://matplotlib.org/ homepage
• on the left side, an example plot will appear (if you reload the page, you will get a different plot most of the time). the random plots are taken from this file.
• one of the random demonstrated plots is step -- unfortunately, the homepage links to https://matplotlib.org/stable/plot_types/basic/step.html which is a 404 page
• the line causing this problem is here

Suggested improvement

• temporarily remove the line from images-rotate-info.js while this is being fixed?
• and/or add a gallery/documentation page demonstrating the step plot at the url that's currently 404
