  1. Make slice generic in terms of its start, stop, and step 

    - Use PEP 696 for slice type parameters with `Any` default
- Ensure `slice.__new__` returns the correctly specified type
- Specify `slice` type arguments, wherever they are not all `Any`
- Define new `IndexSlice` type alias for `SupportsIndex` slices
