I think it would be easier for a developer to decide which tool to use if python-docs-bootstrapper would have a comparison with existing tool in the README. From top of my mind it would be: available on PyPI, not requiring a CPython repository clone (fetching it for the user), not having a dependency on the cookiecutter (?).

The "Why use python-docs-bootstrapper" section will be available in the README in the next release. I'll be working on the new release the next couple of days.

Please don't hesitate to contribute if anything comes to your mind :)
