What version of git SHOULD we claim to support?
Going forward, what is the policy for how the supported version of git changes?
If we say we support a version of git, what responsibility that that imply? e.g. what versions of git should be used in the CI build?

Currently, this project claims to support git 1.6.0.0 and beyond. This version of git was released in 2008-08-17.
