sure
with the coreutils, we run the GNU upstream testsuite of the coreutils for each PR
https://github.com/uutils/coreutils-tracking/

for example, with script, we would run these tests:
https://github.com/util-linux/util-linux/tree/master/tests/ts/script
with our implementation instead of upstream

is that clear?
