I know there is much hate towards MS Store, but hear me out. I'm not a developer, I work with clients and applications management, I serve the users using these apps in education.
And, to be blunt, from my point of view .EXE sucks, .MSI is better, and MS Store apps are king. And while I could buy the point that devs didn't want to move to UWP development, the new MS Store now supports Win32 applications, and application deployment from the new store uses WinGet.
So, why not support the new MS Store as well? It's like a few minutes of extra work which saves thousands of hours of re-packaging for deployments, testing and all that shit. And, it saves our users lots of problems as they don't have local admin rights on their systems.

And, if the $20 or what ever one time fee is a problem, well, I can pay for that if needed.
PS: And sure, it probably can be a little more hassle than the few minutes, but you get what I say. And please don't decide to not support the MS Store just because you choose some kind of anti store on windows principle.
Thank You
