I use the latest WinPython (3.5.2.1Qt5 64 Bit) on Windows 10.

I still get some settings on the User Personal Folder:

  • .QtWebEngineProcess.
  • .Spyder.
    Could it be avoided?
I'd rather all data kept under the installation folder.

Thank You.

Maybe it can't be avoided.

Why do you think so?
There must some kind of a solution for that.

By the way, this might be a hint, in Spyder, when one goes to Tools -> Current User Environment Variables it seems some of the variables are Windows Default.

Thank You.

Just got bit by this issue. I tried to remove the "settings" directory according to the documentation, but it didn't work. Either the code or the documentation should be adapted to be aligned.

If you modify initial .settings/winpython.ini, you may do what you want.
Maybe the wiki shall be re-freshed a bit
