exploratory work:

  • cntk-2.0beta9 is only 33 Mo but no python-3.6 yet, and blew my RAM (nevertheless big progress from last year)
  • as Theano is not friendly with vs2015, we move over to TensorFlow, and so pymc3 is on the way out, Edward on the way in,
  • pyodbc-4.0 on Zero versions
  • we couldn't keep PyQt4 longer: some Windows7 users have issues on Qt5.7.0, but we needed to do Python-3.4 binaries again
  • fastparquet, thrifty, ...
  • what that cookiecutter
  • what that Quantstack/xtensor
  • flexx

build1 (2016-11-19: winpython-3.6.0.1 32bit with latest packages)

main features (since WinPython 2016-05):

  • updates: spyder-3.0.2, scikit-learn-0.18.1, pip 9.0.1,
  • new packages for WinPython3.6: mkl_service, PyAudio, Reportlab, PyOdbc, Pulp, rpy2, cx_Freeze
  • Jupyterlab-0.9.1 update (doesn't seem working great on windows at the moment)

Areas of interest for testers:

  • for Python-3.6 32 bit bug hunters only,
  • help make Jupyterlab working on windows
  • figure out latest ipyparallel (I don't catch how we should do now to get 2 processes running)
  • pandas-0.19.1 has still its issues with Python-3.6.0b4, pandas-0.19.2 only will solve them

Next focus:

  • python-3.6.0b4, backpedal to Jupyter-0.8.0 ?

  • pray for a pandas-0.19.2 Python-3.6 pre-release from cgohlke ?

Could please make 2 things into this release:

  1. Solve the paths issue as in here - release 2016-05 follow-up #381 (comment). Namely define System Variables so that Spyder and the gang won't create folders in the user documents folder.
  2. Add CVXOPT and CVXPY.

You're doing amazing work, really!

stonebig commented Dec 15, 2016

CVXPY still requires PYREADLINE (indirectly) : Collecting pyreadline>=1.7.1 (from dill>=0.2.5->multiprocess->cvxpy

so no CVXPY till that PYREADLINE is no more needed

@RoyiAvital

What's PYREADLINE?

Why is it a problem to have it?

Thank You.

Did you intend on building WinPython-64bit-3.4.4.6Qt5rc.exe? It is not on Sourceforge or in the hash list above. Maybe the build failed.
