Our Story because of the War: Homeless and Struggling to Survive

Hello, my name is Salah Rezeq. I am a final-year Information Technology student at the Islamic University of Gaza, and my wife, Huda Budair, is my university companion and life partner. Before the war, we had just begun our journey together, celebrating our marriage and building our dream home, financing everything through loans. But before we could even start repaying them, the war destroyed everything—our home, our dreams, and our sense of security.

Now, we have been left with nothing. We lost our home, our loved ones, and our friends. We live in a makeshift tent, exposed to the cold, without access to life’s most basic necessities—clean water, electricity, or even a private bathroom. The harsh winter and rising prices in Gaza have made survival even more difficult.

I used to work as a freelance graphic designer, but with no electricity, internet, or equipment, I have lost my only source of income. There are no job opportunities, and we have no way to earn money until the borders reopen and we can leave to start over from scratch.

Why We Need Your Help

We are reaching out for support to help us survive and secure basic necessities like food, clean water, and shelter. Eventually, we hope to leave Gaza to rebuild our lives in safety.

قصتنا بسبب الحرب: بلا مأوى ونكافح من أجل البقاء

مرحبًا، اسمي صلاح رزق، أنا طالب في السنة الأخيرة بتخصص تكنولوجيا المعلومات في الجامعة الإسلامية بغزة، وزوجتي هدى بودير هي رفيقة دراستي وشريكة حياتي. قبل الحرب، كنا قد بدأنا حياتنا معًا، نحتفل بزواجنا ونبني منزل أحلامنا بتمويل من القروض. لكن قبل أن نتمكن حتى من سداد أول دفعة، دمرت الحرب كل شيء—منزلنا، أحلامنا، وشعورنا بالأمان.

الآن، تُركنا بلا شيء. فقدنا بيتنا، وأهلنا، وأصدقاءنا. نحن نعيش في خيمة مؤقتة، في البرد القارس، دون أي من أساسيات الحياة—لا ماء نظيف، ولا كهرباء، ولا حتى حمام خاص لقضاء حاجتنا. الشتاء القاسي وارتفاع الأسعار في غزة جعل الحياة أكثر صعوبة.

كنت أعمل كمصمم جرافيك مستقل، لكن بدون كهرباء أو إنترنت أو معدات، فقدت مصدر دخلي الوحيد. لا توجد فرص عمل، وليس لدينا أي وسيلة لكسب المال حتى يتم فتح المعابر ونتمكن من مغادرة غزة والبدء من جديد.

لماذا نحتاج إلى مساعدتكم؟
