This project explores the idea of water systems connecting through a network of vessels. Water moves through the site in an open loop; it is collected and directed into a cleansing system on site which purifies it on one side and releases it on the other. Through this process the water maintains its equilibrium and provides a lively environment. #Urbandesigncompetition #Landscapedesigncompetition

A development informed by history and a rewilding scheme feature in Dezeen's latest school show by master's students at Oxford Brookes University.

Last week, the summer levees of the two large rivers Rhine and Meuse in the Netherlands overtopped and the much higher winter levees had to take. This 1-in-5 year event not only delivered spectacular views, but also showcased the typical Dutch concept of controlled floodplains, giving more room for the rivers to flow at times of peak discharges.
