synopsis
For as long as she can remember, Jade Blackwell had been waiting to get her magic. She was supposed to get her gift when she turned thirteen like all the enchanters in her family before her. Itβs been three years now, and Jade is still waiting.
At least a hundred years have passed since a mundane was born into her family. Itβs rumored that if a mage doesnβt find their gift by their sixteenth birthday, they never will. But thatβs just a rumor, right?
When her parents ship her off to study magic under her aunt, Jade officially starts freaking out. She's in a strange new city, with an even stranger family member, working at a magical hot spot coffee shop, and spending a lot of time with her handsome co-worker who wants nothing to do with magic. . . And she can't stop worrying about her gift, or the lack thereof.
Will Jade ever find her magic? Or will she be the first in her family to live without it? And if so, can she really make peace with just being average?
