Hello, friends! I've teamed up with dear friends and artist teachers, Jenn McGlon of noodle and lou and Jone Hallmark for a new series of workshops.
I'm listening to the Canada geese flutter and honk out back on the mill pond. They are making their plans to share the water, the air, the shore. Won't be long before the season changes again. Up here in the studio, I feel it too.
This weekend, I taught a workshop on how to make paper flowers at Mohonk Mountain House for their Girlfriend's Getaway Weekend. In a little under an hour, everyone made at least one lovely, unique crepe paper flower—and many of the students made several.
Just for the fun of it, I hosted a girlfriends craft weekend here in Vermont. Robin drove up from Boston area and Melinda came from Philly.

Fall swept through here like a fast-moving train. So many days, so quickly come and gone. Meleen and I hosted another art-making event in Vermont with the loveliest group of women. Rebecca Sower came up from Tennessee to lead an amazing workshop of watercolor painting and mixed media collage.
It's been a busy summer for me. And a lazy one at the same time. Lots of changes.
Thank you all for the sweet emails and cards about my mom. Life catches you up and moves you along. It was a welcome delight to head back to Vermont for another retreat with friends and artists.
My gorgeous, glamorous, sassy, smart, funny and fun mom, Charlotte O'Keefe Matthews Manassa passed away May 4.
