There is nothing wrong with shaking things up in ballet class! Yes, I have great respect for the tradition and history or ballet. BUT … I think it’s also good to remember that all dance forms are constantly evolving, and we can honor the history while still advancing the form to meet the needs to today’s dancers. Most ballet dancers will HAVE to do very contemporary choreography throughout their careers. So why do we keep teaching ballet classes that are designed for classical choreography? Simple modifications to traditional ballet exercises, or additions to ballet class, can make a difference in helping dancers safely and effectively adapt to the demands of modern ballet. Here is a spine warmup that i use as part of a pre-barre or tag to a traditional plié combination in ballet class.

Answer: DYNAMIC STRETCHING Dynamic stretching is movement where joints and muscles go through a full range of motion.
