Located within the city limits of Ibusuki, Kagoshima in the south of Japan (2 hours by plane from Tokyo), this hot spring facility sits beside a tranquil lake where radio waves don’t reach. 

📍 民宿うなぎ湖畔, 鹿児島県/Minshuku Unagi Kohan, Kagoshima Prefecture

I stay here every time I travel to Kagoshima and find that it’s one of the cheapest places I’ve ever stayed at! It’s usually around 10,000 yen ($65) for two people, but you can also pay extra for Kagoshima’s home-cooked dinner dishes (which I highly recommend!).
