Refinished honey oak cabinets with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint and Dark Wax

We spray painted the hinges and old oak cabinet pulls and screws in a Matt black finish. Until I can order the cabinet pulls I want. This worked great!!!!

Final step. Let the wax set overnight. Then buff to a nice shine

I decided to add a Third coat of Annie Sloan dark wax. This added a more professional finish to the cabinets

the doors are being painted and ready to be installed

Sand Paper

I took a 100-125 grit sand paper by hand. I distressed down to the oak. I then took fine sand paper and smoothed out the rough area and scratch marks from sanding. I then took very fine steel wool and went over the whole cabinet doors

Finished cabinets before I decided I wanted to heavy distress.

Apply a second coat of dark wax. You can see the rich color change

After the paint drys. Then cover with Annie Sloan dark wax. Rub in really well. Let this set over night. Wipe down with a dry cheese cloth or soft T shirt material.
