Replacing the Under Sink Cabinet Floor
When renovating our kitchen, we needed to reinforce the countertop where the new cast iron sink would be. When I opened the cabinet doors, I saw a warped, blistered mess of a floor. It had to be replaced. This is what will happen when you have a leaky faucet and never look under your sink. You need to remove the bad flooring. Then you must create a stable, level base to set your new floor on. Then, I used 3/4" plywood to try to prevent future warping, and cut it to size. You…

When I tiled my kitchen floor, I also tiled the inside bottom of the cabinet under the sink to protect the wood from leaks and spills.
