Good news is you can make them at home for way less money and it’s really not that hard! If you haven’t seen them before, basically they are just jars filled with dried fruit/sugar/spices/etc that you can add alcohol to for a DIY infusion. Such a fun gift ideas for friends, family, coworkers – really anyone on your list! We have a TON more info about making these + the exact amounts for each jar on our website (link in bio) but here’s the basic rundown: Spiced Orange Bourbon: you’ll need an orange, 3 pieces crystallized ginger, a cinnamon stick, a few whole cloves, 1 cardamom pod and 1 star anise pod. Pineapple Jalapeño: you’ll need a few pineapple slices, 1 jalapeño, a lime, and 1 tbsp sugar. Cranberry Citrus Vodka: you’ll need ~1/2 cup fresh cranberries (halved), a blood orange, a tangerine, 1 sprig rosemary and 1 tbsp sugar. Preheat your oven to 170˚F and line a few baking sheets with parchment paper. Prepare all of the fruit. Slice everything to the same thickness (about ⅛-inch). Place all of the fruit on the sheet pans, grouping it by type (some fruits will take longer than others). Place in the oven. Rosemary: 1-2 hours. Limes and cranberries: 3-4 hours. Oranges: 4-6 hours. Pineapple and jalapeño: 6-8 hours (start checking early and often as every oven is different!!). The fruits are done when they are completely dry to the touch on both sides. They may still be slightly pliable when you remove from the oven, but will harden as they cool. Assemble the jars! Simply add all ingredients to a glass mason jar, screw on the lid and add a label. Write on the label, instructing the user to fill the jar with the alcohol of their choice and infuse for 1-3 days before straining. Let us know if you have any questions - we tried to answer all of them on our website so find lots more info + more ingredient ideas there! #diygifts #cocktailinfusions #christmasgiftideas #diychristmas | Crowded Kitchen
