Written Recipe: https://cicili.tv/roast-salted-pork-belly/ Serves: 4 Prep Time: 1-3 days, and 30 minutes Cook Time: 1... | By CiCi Li | Salted pork belly is a well-known dish. If you haven't tried it yet, you're definitely missing out. Hello, my foodies. This is me again, Sissy. So in the next few minutes, stay with me, don't go anywhere. I'm going to show you this super delicious salted pork belly recipe. I'm sure you're going to love this. First, I have your two pounds of pork belly that I have thoroughly cleaned. I also took out this hair on the skin. Then, I'm going to use a fork to pierce all over the pork belly. Traditionally, salted pork belly needs to marinate for about three to five days depending on the thickness of the pork belly and by doing so, we can shorten the marinating time to one to 3 days. It also helps to tenderize the pork and to combine the marinade in a bowl, we're going to add the garlic, salt, rice wine, vibe spice powder, black pepper powder, citron pepper corn powder, and if you like, you could also lightly toast the spices beforehand for additional aromas as well. Now, mix well. The marinade all over the pork. You can also add other spices based on your personal preference. Now, I just going to put everything in a large Ziploc bag and give it a good massage. Transfer this into the fridge and let it marinate for one to three days depending on the thickness of the pork. I'm going to let it marinate for two days. After 2 days, I took the pork out from the fridge and I'm just going to let it stay in room temperature for about 15 minutes. I'm going to try to scrape some seasoning off the pork so it won't be too overly salty but if you want to leave it, that's totally fine. The good news about this salted pork is you can cook it however you like. Anything from stir frying, mean but for today's purpose we're going to roast it in the oven. So right here I line my roasting pan with aluminum foil for easier cleaned up. And I'm going to put the pork on a roasting rack today. But to be honest the roasting rack is totally optional. If you use it the pork will turn out to be more crispier on the outside. If you don't use it the pork belly will turn out to be really moist and tender. So it depends on which style you like it better. You can test them both and just let me know which way you think is better. We're going to preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit and position a baking rack in the middle of the oven and then we're going to transfer the roasting pan to the middle rack of the oven and roast it for 40 minutes under 400 ° Fahrenheit. So while we wait, let's do some dipping sauce. This dipping sauce is super easy but full aroma. We're just going to mince some garlic and put the garlic in a bowl. Add some rice vinegar and a bit of sugar. Mix well. That's it. Alright, so now let's take a look at our pork. Um we're going to take it out and let it rest for about 10 minutes before slicing it into bite-sized pieces. Alright, I'm just going to give it a try without the sauce first. Okay, let's see this. I'm going to pick this one. Mm look at that beautiful layers of pork, belly, and then a bling meat. So beautiful. Wow. Amazing. There is so much aromas to it. There's a crispy crust on the outside. Oh, so good and then on the inside, the meat is super moist, super tender, just amazing. Let me try the dupe sauce. So good. Can you hear it? Was it so crispy on the outside? Mm. So happy. We like garlic. Alright so comment below and let me know what is your favorite pork belly recipe. Remember to subscribe thumbs up and I will see you again in the next episode. Bye bye.
