I can’t tell you the number of times I’ve gone in the bathroom just to look at the plumbing though 🙈 *rub-n-buff in the color European gold . . #diy #bathroomremodel #bathroomrenovation #diybathroom #womanwithpowertools #diyer #diyersofinstagram #thesimplydistressed | Andi: The Simply Distressed

Kerry Kellett on Instagram: "Honest thoughts on our microcement bathroom 18 months after installation. It’s one that always brings up a lot of questions and always divides opinions. It was easy to install ourselves using the kit provided from @smartcret following the simple steps that they provide It created hardly any mess versus ripping out the tiles and having the bathroom plastered I’m glad we decided to do the floor as well because of the seamless finish it creates. The floor is not slippy when wet. The hardest part of applying this was getting the microcement smooth in the corners. It’s very easy to keep clean thanks to the fact that there are no grout lines, we just use soapy water, nothing too abrasive. It does not get slimy when wet. Once you have applied the sealant on top

TIFFANY | home styling & creative DIY projects on Instagram: "FAVORITE CUSTOM VANITY A custom white oak floating vanity was a must for our bathroom, but the $2,000+ price tag? No, thank you. 😳 So, I rolled up my sleeves and created it myself! Here’s how I did it: 1. Frame a base using 2x6s. 2. Base Frame: Start with a plywood piece cut to your desired vanity height and width. Secure it in place with glue and a pin nailer for a seamless finish. 3. Slim Shaker Sides: Rip a 1” white oak board into 3/8” thick strips and frame the sides for that trendy slim shaker style. 4. Front Design: Use a 1x3” board for the front, spacing it perfectly with a 3/8” strip as a guide. 5. Interior Structure: Cut a second piece of plywood to fit snugly inside the vanity, notching it to slide over the floa

The Bathroom Guide on Instagram: "Choosing the Right Toilet: Top vs. Bottom Inlet Top Inlet Toilets -Modern and sleek design -No visible hose -Requires precise installation -Risk: If your plumber doesn’t correctly calculate the bedding, glue and tile thickness (known as the Finished floor height) Misalignment may require tile removal to fix.💥 Bottom Inlet Toilets -Simple and straightforward -More forgiving installation -Visible pipe is the trade-off 🔥Pro tip: if you choose top inlet, get your plumber to coordinate with the tiler on what the finished floor height will be so that the plumber can move the water point to the right location. 🚀P.S If you want to learn how to create your own bathroom design using our structured design workflow methods… you’ll love our FREE 8 step video les
Kerry Kellett on Instagram: "Why microcement was the right choice for us. Renovating the ensuite was a bit of a last-minute decision for us, we had already renovated the rest of the upstairs so didn’t really want to create a mess by ripping out the old tiles. Whilst the tiles looked okay, the workmanship on them was pretty poor. The surface was uneven. The grout wasn’t great and in places filler had just been used instead of grout. The microcement kit from @smartcret enable us to do it straight over the existing tiles with no need to create the rip out mess. It was ideal for our ensuite as we could do it on the floor too. It is fully waterproof after you have applied the last layer of sealant. for more information, check out the @smartcret website I will link in my stories 🤍 Microc

Small feature tiles in wet areas may look amazing, but they come with a catch — lots of grout lines that can discolour and trap mould over time. Especially on the lower half of your shower. 😬 Here’s how to solve it: 🔹 Use larger tiles on the lower half of your shower. 🔹 Keep the top half with smaller feature tiles for style. 🔹 Transition the two tile styles with a shelf wall to create a seamless look. 🔹 seal grout lines for easier maintenance to keep a cleaner, fresher look.
