It’s one that always brings up a lot of questions and always divides opinions.

It was easy to install ourselves using the kit provided from @smartcret following the simple steps that they provide

It created hardly any mess versus ripping out the tiles and having the bathroom plastered

I’m glad we decided to do the floor as well because of the seamless finish it creates. The floor is not slippy when wet. The hardest part of applying this was getting the microcement smooth in the corners.

It’s very easy to keep clean thanks to the fact that there are no grout lines, we just use soapy water, nothing too abrasive. It does not get slimy when wet.

Renovating the ensuite was a bit of a last-minute decision for us, we had already renovated the rest of the upstairs so didn’t really want to create a mess by ripping out the old tiles. Whilst the tiles looked okay, the workmanship on them was pretty poor. The surface was uneven. The grout wasn’t great and in places filler had just been used instead of grout. The microcement kit from @smartcret enable us to do it straight over the existing tiles with no need to create the rip out mess. It was ideal for our ensuite as we could do it on the floor too.
