Make sure to get all of the edges of each of the letters and then set that to the side and let it dry. I'm using a fall napkin that I found at Hobby Lobby. You'll want to remove the back layers depending on how many plies there are. You only need the top layer. I will be using two napkins for this since it's a pretty long sign So, I'm going to line my first napkin up over the first half of the word. Put a piece of parchment paper on there and then, just gently iron over each of those letters. The iron is set on about three fifty. Let it cool off from the iron and you'll need a sharp tool, some water, and a clean paint brush. We're going to go around the edging of the letters on the sign as well as the inside portion of those letters with the water. Then, you'll take your tool and I'm just using a Cricut weeding tool you gently go around the inside and the outside portion of each of these raised letters and then remove any of that excess napkin and sometimes you can just take your paint brush and push those edges all the way up to the inside of the edge of the lettering you just want to remove as much of the napkin outside of the letters as you can allow the napkin to thoroughly dry now going to take some parchment paper and again just gently go over it with the iron just to make sure that the water didn't loosen up the Mod Podge underneath I just want to make sure that napkin is still sealed to the letters then you'll remove your parchment paper let it cool off a little bit we're going to take some Mod Podge go over the top of the napkin and any of those excess pieces that you have from the edging push that up against each of the it's going to look almost like the letter is wrapped with the napkin so you could see it right there at the very edge how we're just pushing it down around each of the letters we're going to continue to do that around all of the edging and then we'll go back and add a layer of Mod Podge on top of each of the letters to seal that napkin in I decided I wanted to darken up the frame a bit so I'm going to remove the hanger but I'm going to save that because I can put it back on there it just it easier for me to paint the frame without it. I'm going to paint it with an antique wax and make sure that I get the outside edges as well. I thought this beautiful dark color would really bring out the pine cones in the napkin. Once it dries, I can replace the original hanger back on.
