It’s a leveling button! ✨ This feature is helpful when you are sewing fabric that is so thick that your presser foot tips. If your presser foot is not level to the feed dogs, the fabric can have a hard time moving through and your stitches look like 🗑️. But no worries! This little button makes it much easier to sew thick fabric. First, with your presser foot UP, gently use your fingers to level your presser foot and push in the black button. Then lower your presser foot. The leveler is now engaged and you can stitch as normal. 🥳 Once the fabric is fully under the presser foot, the button will pop out and disengage on its own. ✨ ✂️ 💙 Bonus tip! If your presser foot doesn’t have a leveler, you can fold up a piece of scrap fabric and place it under the foot to manually level it. Just make sure the scrap of fabric is behind the needle.
