While there is certainly a place for the word “no” in parenting, I’ve noticed that reframing it has been a real game changer when it comes to our daughters behaviour. 

It’s essential that children understand the importance of the word “no”, however, if it’s overused it can lead to a situation where they start to ignore it. 

Reframing the word “no” with alternatives like “yes, we can but not right now, after lunch” or “yes, let’s come up with a plan” has been incredibly effective in ensuring our daughters understanding and respect for limits. 

With a few small changes, the power of “no” can remain strong ♡
