Arounna Khounnoraj on Instagram: "My friend Julie @theloveofcolour sent me some of her #naturaldye kits to try out. The first one I tried is the clay resist with #indigo over dyeing. I mixed the ingredients in hot water and it was such a great mixture and I worked with it the whole day and would periodically give it a stir. I really enjoyed using the resist and it’s much easier to wash off than removing wax. You can use the mixture to block print with or with a stencil. I had the botanical all printed, but I needed a stenciled print to go with it. What you see in the video is a block of gelatin that is about 1/2” thick. For the first layer of the print, I rolled out a solid color. Then I rolled out a second color and placed a stencil on top and printed that. Then I did the same with a third color. You can stop at two colors, or layer even more colors on top. It’s whatever you choose. I really like gel printing. It’s fun and loose and colorful. And addictive.
