Thank you Kimi's Crafts for the inspiration! #fyp #halloweendecor #halloween #diyhalloween #dollartreediy #dollartree... | By Windy City Crafts | I first grabbed six of these skulls from Dollar Tree and I just began drilling two holes on the bottom side of each of them. You will eventually want to make the holes bigger which is really easy to do. Just grab a pair of scissors and poke it through the hole and the hole will get bigger. Now, you could leave the skulls as is. However, I want mine to look more weathered and aged. So, I just water down some black acrylic paint and began painting each of the goal. Allow that to dry a little bit and then just wipe it off with a paper towel. And once the black was dry, I did the same thing with brown acrylic paint. So just paint each one. Allow it to dry a little bit and just wipe it off with a paper towel. Next you want to grab some zip ties and poke those through those holes that we made in the beginning of the video and this is why I say to make the holes bigger because once they were a little bit big it was a lot easier for the zip ties to poke through. You then just want to grab a wreath frame from Dollar Tree. Find a good placement for the skulls and zip tie them to the last two bars on that wreath frame. And make sure that all six of the skulls are faced outwards. You also want to make sure that you tighten that zip tie as tight as it'll go. I then added some hot glue to the bottom of them just to make sure that they're not some of these chains from Dollar Tree. And just attach them to that wreath frame. I then used a very sharp box cutter and just cut across on the top of each of the skulls. A little tip is that if it's too hard for the box cutter to go through that plastic just warm it up with a heat gun or a blow dryer and then it makes it super easy to cut through that. I then grab some of these LED candle sticks from Dollar Tree. I'm just painting the flame orange because these were way too bright and my opinion. And then to make the candles look a little bit more spooky and weathered I just painted them with some more of that watered down brown acrylic paint and I put those candle sticks in the openings of the top of the skulls that I created. And then just grabbed some creepy cloth you could get from Dollar Tree as well. I just put it through the chains and just had it draped all around the skulls. The would be such a great accent piece for in your house or on your front porch or even if you live in an apartment and you have a patio it came out really cool and it was super inexpensive to create. I hope this inspires you to create your own in your own special way. If it did, please be sure to sprinkle the love. Thank you so so much and I hope you all have a good rest of your day. Thanks. Bye.
