Vintage half moon mother of pearl compact. Loose powder compact. A.S.Brown, Mascot. Made in England. 1950s This is a stunning compact. It is an unusual semi circular, or half moon shape. whuch sits very comfortably in the hand. The face is embellished with beautiful irridescent plaques of real mother of pearl. The reverse has a simple pin stripe design often found on early A.S.Brown pieces. The compact opens with a press button to reveal a clean interior. The mirror is clear and gives a true reflection. The inner lid, opens readily by depressing a small button to the right. the powder well is clean and the original branded puff and sifter are present. AS Brown & Co Ltd, London England, started manufacturing powder compacts signed ASB in the 1940s.
