VICTORY #21: Seabed Mining Banned in Washington
Surfrider and our partners are celebrating the passage of a law to permanently protect Washington’s marine environment from the destructive practice of seabed mining—a process which destroys the seafloor, causes noise pollution, and harms marine life. Washington Governor Jay Inslee signed Senate Bill 5145 into law on May 3rd, making Washington State the second state in the country(!) to take this action to protect our coasts. -Surfrider Washington
