Rajesh Goel, Senior Vice President & Director, Sales and Marketing, Honda Cars India Limited said, 'The 2nd Generation of Honda
Amaze has been a resounding success for HCIL and we have been able to touch more than 1 lakh families since its launch last year, making it the fastest selling Honda car in India.
"We are thankful to our customers for this response which has made the all-new
Amaze the most successful launch in HCIL's history," Makoto Hyoda, Director, Sales and Marketing, Honda Cars India Ltd said.
In terms of powertrain, the 2018 Honda
Amaze is expected to retain the 1.2-litre petrol engine that produces 88bhp, and the 1.5-litre diesel engine that produces 100bhp and 200Nm max torque.
The mechanicals of the car are similar to the
Amaze and the diesel engine is also the same as that used on both the City and the
Amaze.
In order to meet growing demand and reduce the waiting period on the
Amaze, Honda has announced it will commence a third shift at its production plant in Greater Noida this November.
With new investments in Tapukar plant, launch of advanced i-DTEC diesel engine technology, and rollout of new family sedan
Amaze, Honda has set on a new phase of growth in the country.
Founded in Liverpool in 1995,
Amaze now employs 130 people at its headquarters in Runcorn, and satellite office in London.
A cohesive design with a strong hint of a cab-forward stance, the
Amaze, like the Brio, is brilliantly packaged.
Amaze, which employs 57 people in Liverpool and a small team in London, is to rebuild the website in time for a relaunch in July.
In India, the Honda
Amaze will be available with a petrol engine and a newly-developed diesel engine and will be positioned in the entry level sedan segment for the Indian market.
