crunk
1. noun An especially energetic style of hip hop that incorporates electronic sounds and synthesizers, along with shouted lyrics. It originated in the southern US. Lil Jon's song "Get Low" is often credited with popularizing crunk. Crunk is my favorite music to dance to in the club. Oh my gosh, crunk songs like "Yeah!" by Usher take me right back to my junior prom!
2. adjective, slang Wild and lacking restraint. Woo, that party last night was crunk—I've never had so much fun! Aw, you should have come out with us because the club was crunk, man. So much energy! Dude, we've got to get rid of some of these people. If the party gets too crunk, you know the old lady next door is gonna call the cops.
3. adjective, slang Drunk. Although the etymology of "crunk" is debated, it may be a portmanteau of "crazy" and "drunk." Do you remember last night at all? You were really crunk. Would you be quiet? If Mom and Dad find out you got crunk at that party, you'll be grounded for life. If I got up and did karaoke in front of everyone last night, then I must have been really crunk—yikes.
