Please note: If your stopper is too large, you might not be able to roll your back foot forward. Try these tips!! —keep your knees soft & bouncy, ready for action😎 —foot slides help stretch & gain hip/leg mobility —toe drops help a skater get comfortable with the distance between the floor & their skates —start with alternating between pointing your toes & drawing a C shape with each skate in a forward motion — as the C foot goes forward, kick your heel in & drop all wheels down to stabilize —that stabilized foot begins to slide back at the same time as the other foot’s toe drops and begins the C motion —repeat or alternate on each skate Got any tips to add! Let us know in the comments! ⬇️⬇️ Don’t forget to save for later & share it with your friends!! 😁 . Make it fu

Michael Anderson on Instagram: "Feel good about your dribbles? Ready to throw in some PIVOTS to add flavor? Try this stationary drill to familiarize yourself with what’s going on. 1. ESTABLISH YOUR BASE: How far should the legs be spread between the pivots and what does feet placement look like? The smaller the spread, the better the balance. The larger the spread, you a bad mama jama. 2. BALANCE YOUR WEIGHT: this drill is perfect for balancing the weight on the back toes, front foot, and simultaneously pivoting at the same time. It will feel wobbly at first, but will get better over time( over time is very subjective to your own journey. Anywhere from a few days to a few months) 3. PIVOT THOSE SKATES: this is where you find that partnership between your shoulders, hips, and feet. In

I could be wrong though, what do you think? SN: How we feel about the fit? Valid?? I need to know before I go run these errands. 🧍🏽 💥 POLL: Which move we working on first? 🤔⬇️ Breakdowns? Disclaimer: Depending on the size of your stopper, you may not be able to do the roll back. My preference is to have Jam plug which over more space for you to roll back on your toes. ❤️🖤❤️ I am the founder of @empowr.cic, home to: - Roller skating Events - Each1teach1: Skate Jam for adults and children - Skating Lessons for adults and children #skatingcommunity #skateldn #skatingjourney #rollerskating #rollerskate #skatetips #skatergirl #skate #skating #rollerskate #rollerskater #quadskates #quad #rollergirl #beginnerskater #rollerskates"
Rosa Mei on Instagram: "Footwork Dance x Jam Skating - Pop Up Slide This is a move from jazz rock footwork that starts with toe tap back and then you do a toe balance (like toe daggers in tap dance) that goes to a slide. In jam skating it’s like adding a piston heel drop before the dribble. Then you heel toe reset n start on the other side… or do whatever! 😀🛼 #jamskaters #housedance #jamskate #housedancer #gliding #pivots #heeltoe #twister #danceskating #danceskate #twistout #shuffledance #popup #slides #footworkdance #rollerskating #roller dance"
D. R. E. A. M. • Roller Skater on Instagram: "Since the last one was TOO EASY 😏 Most of these moves require toe control, so if you’re still not getting on your toes you’re going to have a bad day attempting this. 😅 The best tip I have when it comes to getting used to being on your toes is: BEND THOSE KNEES. A lot of people that first start working on toe balance tend to straighten their leg all the way when they get on their toes. That’s only going to make it harder for you to balance your weight. Bend your knees, keep your chest over your feet, and find that sweet spot to balance yourself. Being honest, I’m still working on perfecting these moves myself. Keep practicing. 💫 💥Hit that poll and let me know your thoughts in the comments! I’m thinking of cooking up a part 2 to this

Michael Anderson on Instagram: "Turning around on skates can be scary, but there are safe ways to do so while keeping that smooth composure. Extra Tips: when going backward to forward I am on one leg for a short period of time. Please practice rolling on one leg(even if just for a few minutes). Build that strength up, because some moves will require you to balance your weight on one leg. Going front to back can be very tricky. From personal experience, we naturally want to lift that leg up and turn around. That can lead to falls that can be avoided. For beginners, I recommend keeping both feet on the ground during a front to back turn until you feel comfortable. #rollerskating #tips #rollerskatingofinstagram #instaskater #rollerskatingbeginner Are you comfortable going back/front &
D. R. E. A. M. • Roller Skater on Instagram: "TRANSITION PROGRESSION 🔄🛼 The Rundown ⬇️ 1. Weight & Balance 📚 The transition I show you in this video is one of the easiest to learn, but you’ll struggle to execute it if your one-foot balance isn’t there. Be able to place all your weight on one foot comfortably, and also have the ability to switch your weight to the other foot WITHOUT jumping. 🐥 2. The Three-Step Turn 🚷 This is the main motion you’ll be using to turn, and it applies no matter if you’re going left, right, forward or backward. Some key points to remember: ⭐️ Lift your feet, open your hips, and make sure you turn your chest with your feet. Looking in the direction you want to turn helps to complete the movement. ⭐️ Bend your knees and practice shifting your weight her

I spent time training myself. Building toe strength and proper technique has taken me far in my skate journey. GETTING INTO THE SPIN: Arms out for balance, staggered feet, opposite leg of the direction you’re going is out in front(reference my video for an example), and knees slightly bent. Combine that with strong toes and you’re on your way. QUALITY OVER QUANTITY: Im a victim of the “how many” vs the consistency. Once I gained confidence knowing I could hit 1-2 spins whenever I wanted, the quantity came with time. WHO is working on TOE spins? Disclaimer: not a tutorial, just my workout ro
