I used a single LED light with a custom made snoot attachment to light the models face in this 35mm film studio portrait shoot. This is an example of a side light image. The use of side lighting only illuminates half of her face. This effect gives the image a different depth than the other types of lighting. Therefore it gives the picture a dark and ominous feeling. Also, her stoic look makes you wonder what the other side of her face may look like.
