Sana is handmade from a vintage hand-quilted red & white flower basket quilt and has a red/green victorian look stocking, green mittens, and a sculpted nose with lamb's wool beard. This is a reproduction of a 19th century "Housewife" sewing kit. Carried by soldiers during the Civil War, they were referred to as a "Soldier's Housewife". Not only is this kit perfect for the avid reenactor, its small size makes it practical to carry everyday in a purse, car, work bag, or travel bag. This housewife is 100% hand sewn from period reproduction fabrics. The kit is a finished product, not a pattern. You will receive exactly what is pictured. It includes black and white thread, 2 hand sewing needles, 5 reproduction stick pins, and a cotton sachet with 4 shell buttons.

Vintage Crazy Quilt Recreated Christmas Stockings Wool Brocades Satins Embroidery

The recreated unique one of a kind Christmas Stockings were made from a Vintage Crazy Quilt pieces dating back to the early 1900's. The quilt pieces lent themselves to create some special Christmas Stockings. The satin, silk, brocades and wool pieces are hand sewn then many are appliqué stitched to enhance the beauty. Vintage Crazy Quilts have fabric damage and are delicate in nature, you will see some deterioration. In many places I have applied via machine turkey stitch pieces from the original quilt over worn areas. The fold down is created by using vintage embroidered edge napkin. The red gross grain ribbon was purchased to compliment these stockings. Please check out my other Crazy Quilt Stocking listings.
