Ida Stover Eisenhower, mother of President Dwight D. Eisenhower, became a Bible Student, as Jehovah's Witnesses were then called, in 1895, when the president was just 5 years old. She remained a Witness until her death in 1946. None of her children (all boys) ever served Jehovah.

President Eisenhower sits in a wheelchair after being released from Fitzsimmons Army Hospital in Denver On Saturday September 24, 1955, President Dwight D. Eisenhower suffered a heart attack while vacationing in Denver, Colorado. He spent seven weeks on the 8th floor of Fitzsimmons Army Hospital. In November the President returned to Washington and then on to his farm in Gettysburg to recuperate.
