Kelly Beeman is a Brooklyn-based artist and fashion illustrator with an unmistakable style. Completely self-taught, she likes to combine mundane objects and places with beautiful, mysterious subjects. Her diverse body of work consists of simple, black and white contour drawings of nudes that evolve into fully-rendered watercolour paintings portraying a vivid world composed on clothing, everyday objects, nature, and interior spaces.

Kelly Beeman Makes Art Out of Fashion
“I think the benefit [of being an outsider in the art industry] is not caring about it. I tried to go to art school. I was thisclose to going to Parsons and then right before enrolling, I was like, ‘It's so expensive!' I didn't have anyone to help me pay for it. I was about to take out loans to pay for a BFA. If I had done that maybe it would have been fine, but I'm glad I didn't.”
