Why is HEVEA called Hevea? Did you know that the name 'HEVEA' originates from the latin name for the genus of rubber trees, Hevea Brasiliensis, which is the source of our natural rubber?

Natural rubber comes from Hevea brasiliensis, the rubber tree. It produces latex from vessels in its bark, which is collected through rubber tapping. The bark is slashed and the latex collected in buckets. The tree originated in the Amazon rainforest but has been cultivated in areas with similar climates for commercial purposes.
