The absence of conflict and arguments isn’t the sign of a healthy relationship- it’s how someone handles themselves and their loved one during and after the conflict. 

The goal is to maintain connection and safety during conflict- admittedly, a very challenging thing to do. It’s easy to maintain connection with emotions are settled, but when things get fiery this is MUCH harder. If connection is reestablished in the middle of the conflict, much of the tension is released.
