DIY off-road mud pit for kids...just hose some dirt, dig, and use your hands to shape, mold and smooth over some roads...plastic shovels and toy gardening tools are always a fun addition...dirt cheap fun!!

Jack's new garden/dirt play area..he absolutly loves it!

Using a mixture of wooden off cuts, branches and stepping stones we created a quarry in the mud pit. The Educator and children created a parking space, added pot plants for trees and roads lined with wood. The children created a river by digging out the mud and added a bridge. Lots of loose parts were available for the children to create and explore in this natural environment.

We love loose parts - the looser the better which puts sand and water at the top of our 'must have available' loose parts list at Stomping...
