The Power imbalance

In a solid marriage there is an equal balance of power between two spouses. In Macbeth's case though his wife has much more influence than him. This is clear because of how Lady Macbeth gets away with ridiculing and belittling her husband, specifically after he murders Duncan. The power imbalance seems to lessen as the play progresses but it's existence contributes to Macbeth's mental instability that gradually worsens.
