ART NOUVEAU: in architecture

I never tire of Art Nouveau, Art Deco, Arts & Crafts, Prairie style, although explicitly different and reactionary against the preceding movement they all share a basic emphasis on craft, attention to detail, well-thought design and pride in knowing a particular item (a door, a radio, etc) is not just an item of function—but a work of art in itself. ART DECO sought to exploit mass production methods but so well designed/assembled that many examples still work better than contemporary versions.
