This paper aims to analyze the philosophical school of existentialism developed by the philosophe... more This paper aims to analyze the philosophical school of existentialism developed by the philosopher Jean-Paul Sartre and relate it to the theological issues of freedom and human responsibility. Existentialism is a school of thought that emphasizes individual existence as the basis for the meaning of life and emphasizes human freedom to create meaning itself. In theology, the issue of human freedom and responsibility is often the main focus in the context of human relations with God. The method used in this paper is library research to gather information about Sartre's views on existentialism and also to explore theological views on human freedom and responsibility. We will also analyze Sartre's "Being and Nothingness" and "Existentialism is a Humanism" and related theological works to support the arguments in this article.Keywords: Philosophy, Existentialism, Philosopher Jean-Paul Sartre, Theology

Toraja Church youth, like the younger generation in general, are faced with significant social, economic and technological changes. Therefore, innovative thinking and action is needed to maintain the relevance and effectiveness of diaconal services.
