It has a great influence, especially on the lifestyles of young adult Malay Muslim women. As such, this study tries to explore the answers to the following questions: (1) What types of media are used by young adult Malay Muslim
women with regard to the Korean wave? (2) How do young adult Malay Muslim women perceive the Korean wave? (3) How does the Korean wave influence young adult Malay Muslim women audiences?, and (4) What are the strategies used by young adult Malay Muslim women to adhere Islamic teachings while embracing the Korean wave? This study tested the cultivation theory as a powerful media effect theory. It employed a qualitative research design with the semi-structured in-depth interview
method involving 12 young adult Malay Muslim women respondents. Four major themes were identified from the transcribed data: (1) media exposure towards the Korean wave; (2) perceptions towards the Korean wave; (3) influences of the Korean wave; and (4) strategies for adopting the Korean wave with Islamic rules. Young Malay Muslim females mainly use Internet websites, social media applications, and stream media for Korean wave information. They perceived that the Korean wave is beneficial, as it focuses on respecting elders and seniors, with fresh themes and realistic lifestyles. They are influenced more by the language intonation, beauty and fashion, Korean foods than the negative influences of the Korean wave. As Muslims, the Malay women do exercise self- control and moderate in their lifestyles.

Most countries that have been affected have taken drastic action by implementing a lockdown to flatten
the curve of infection. The Malaysian government has imposed a Movement Control Order (MCO) that enforced closure of all non-essential sectors, including the educational institutions. At institutes of higher learning, all regular physical teaching and learning (RPTL) and other co-
curricular activities have been put on hold. In addition, the MCO has also affected students who are pursuing an internship programme. The implications of MCO on interns vary from temporary suspension, revocation or substituting traditional internship with a virtual internship. Thus, the purposes of this study are to basically explore students’ experiences in pursuing a virtual internship, looking at the major challenges that they have encountered and how the challenges have affected their performance as interns. A semi-structured interview was employed as a
method of data collection. Respondents were Communication students from one public university in Malaysia who did a virtual internship during the MCO. The situated learning theory was applied to guide the research. The findings of the study contribute to improving the practice of virtual internship in the midst of a public health emergency such as COVID-19. The study suggests that a guideline for the virtual internship during a pandemic would be useful. The guideline will facilitate all stakeholders involved - interns, host company and university - to understand the limitations of an online internship and work together to ensure a mutually
beneficial internship programme for all.

In recent years, stupidity has become a political phenomenon as manifested in mesmerism of followers with ‘stupid’ leaders. In this angst, a journey into the realm of unconscious is a ‘wonder’ exercise. This conceptual paper, in the form of notes, acts as a provocation on understanding the occurrence, and it is done via hermeneutics. In line with hermeneutical tradition, brief pre-understandings are presented: politics as fog, stupidity as normality, depth psychology, affect as the new epistemology and Kahan’ theory of seduction. The hermeneutic loop strategy being applied in as a way is to find ‘habitus’ behind mesmerisation. This work posited Bion ‘basic assumptions’ as the repository for ‘ingredients’ in making ‘potion of mesmerisation’. The idea of ‘hermeneutics of suspicion’ over the seen-visible data is being applied as a method of knowing. In due course, entering the ‘corset’ of other appropriate disciplines as a way of ‘unpacking the unconscious phenomenon’ is being taken as a tool for wonder’, that is in communication research with similar nature.

Specifically, the objectives of the study are: (1) to determine the levels of moral traits, moral identity, moral belief, and online moral engagement; (2) to determine the relationships between moral traits, moral identity, moral belief, and online moral engagement; and (3) to investigate the mediating effect of moral belief on the relationships of moral traits and moral identity with online moral engagement. This study employed a quantitative research design using the online survey technique for data collection. A total of 153 respondents was collected. Results show high levels of moral traits, moral identity, moral belief, and online moral engagement exercised by the students. Moral belief partially mediated the relationships of moral traits and moral identity with online moral engagement. These findings support Mill’s harm principle that any kind of expression should be allowed but guided by self-restriction and not harm others. Therefore, the study suggests for a focus on moral nurturing among Malaysian youths to minimize the total freedom of expression of harmful information being disseminated unnecessarily especially online.

During the enforcement of MCO, many intriguing stories begin and one of it is, various untold hidden talents have been exposed indirectly by Malaysians. These talents have been uploaded through some of their Social Media (SM) accounts themselves and have been shared by hundreds and thousands of their followers through SM as well. This study seeks to identify the untold hidden talent through SM account among Malaysian society during the unprecedented time of the pandemic,
furthermore, it occurs during the enforcement of MCO. The qualitative research approach has been carried out for this study; thus, an in-depth interview has been used as the main method to gather all the data involving talented respondents' personal experience. The empirical results of the study discovered that their action is to avoid suffering from depression, also, it is to dumbfound the mental health issue. Meanwhile, SM has impacted the growth of their talent, indirectly increasing the number of viewers and subscribers or followers on their SM account such as YouTube and Instagram. Finally, their surrounding contacts have positively encouraged for the talent to be practised and been written in a journal for general reference. Indeed, this study is expected to contribute to the SM field and health science and well-being studies to motivate future generations on how to overcome depression and mental health during a global pandemic.

A scoping review method was used. A comprehensive search was conducted, including searching five electronic databases such as Google Scholar, PUBMED, Science Direct, Scopus,
and WILEY Online Library to locate relevant studies, select studies, chart the data, and collate reporting the results. The scoping review rigour was enhanced by using an appraisal tool to evaluate the quality of included studies and a published template to develop a systematic description of the interventions. The final 34 articles, either in Bahasa Malaysia or English
from 2016 to the present, were reviewed. Based on the findings, we
highlight that merely conducting online health coaching may benefit weight reduction and physical activity intervention. However, the combination of online coaching with other strategies, including mobile application, web-based, and face-to face coaching, would increase health intervention success. Therefore, online health coaching can be one of the new yet practical approaches in terms of labour-, time- and cost-effectiveness to improve the health systems, thus, enhance the quality of life of an individual.

However, having strong interpersonal connections and being able to speak a local language can influence how an international student adapts to their new country. From the perspective of uncertainty reduction theory (URT) by Berger and Calabrese (1975), adaptation can be increased if the individual is motivated to reduce uncertainty by widening their social interactions with host nationals. More current studies on cross-cultural adaptation are looking into how new media and communication technology facilitate cultural adaptation among immigrants and sojourners. Accordingly, this study aims to examine the role of social support, uncertainty adaptability and social media use in influencing social adaptation process among international students from a Malaysian public university. Using a cross-sectional survey, questionnaires was distributed among international students from five different faculties in a public Malaysian university (N = 385). Overall, results from the study established the importance of having strong social support and establishing communication with family and
friends through social media use in order to navigate the process of social adaptation in Malaysia. Also, findings provide some support for URT; uncertainty adaptability partially mediated the relationship between social media use and social adaptation. The implications of these findings on URT, as well as the role of social media as a cross-cultural adaptation tool
will be discussed.

Lack of intercultural communication sensitivity also leads to poor adaptability among graduates which resulted in high unemployment. Researches indicate that environment has a great influence on intercultural communication sensitivity among people. Therefore, this research aims to explore the influence of mono-ethnic and multi-ethnic schooling environments on intercultural communication sensitivity among undergraduates in a private institution of higher learning. 27 informants from both mono-ethnic and multi-ethnic schooling backgrounds were selected through purposive sampling. Semi-structured interviews were used to collect data and were analysed using NVIVO software. It was found that intercultural experiences of an individual have a great impact in determining one being interculturally sensitive. It was discovered that individuals from mono-ethnic schooling backgrounds tend to be less interculturally sensitive compared to individuals from multi-ethnic schooling environment.

In the wake of post-feminism in the late twentieth century, it is interesting to explore the notion of women emancipation through media production, particularly in Malaysia. This article, therefore, seeks to examine the idea of post-feminism within the images of Malay women in local magazines. How do media producers choreograph the representation of Malay women? In what way do they perform duties to uplift the status of women? To what extent are they
aware of the idea of mediated women as commodity in the selling business? Drawing from the post-feminist media culture, a focus group
interview with six female editors of women magazines was conducted to unfold the commodification of women’s agency by image producers. Beauty and brain emerged as the major theme from the discussion. All published images have been projected towards upgrading women’s position in the society and being exemplary to the audience. Women have been empowered with their job, education, achievement, and social status, yet they have never been discounted from the traditional elements of look, fashion, home, and motherhood in their life. In the media, women are liberated from being objectified and empowered with who they are and how they feel. Eventually they have become active labour for capitalists, hence feminism has been commodified.

However, many Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) have limited expertise, facilities and financial capacity to focus on branding and to evaluate its impact. This paper studies the branding of NGOs in Malaysia by evaluating public perception towards the Global Organisation of People of Indian Origin (GOPIO) and the factors that affect public trust in the NGO. This research engaged three variables from Aaker’s Brand Equity Theory, namely Brand Awareness, Brand Loyalty and Brand Association as independent variables while placing Brand Trust as the dependent variable. The researchers conducted a quantitative survey on members, associates and friends of GOPIO in Malaysia and analysed the data through descriptive, correlation and multiple regression methods. The research found that Brand Awareness, Brand Loyalty, Brand Association and Brand Trust have positive relationships with one another. Brand Association was the best contributor to Brand Trust and the level of trust in GOPIO was very high. The research concludes that branding is imperative for NGOs and that NGOs must connect, promote participation and build relationships with people to secure volunteers, partnerships and funds. The findings of this research shall benefit organisations and researchers in Brand Equity, Brand Trust, NGO branding and Malaysian Indian NGOs.

This will be analysed through the adaptation that needed to be made by key industry players from two advertising self-regulatory guidelines in Malaysia which are Malaysia Advertising Codes of Practice and Malaysian (The Code) and Multimedia Content Forum of Malaysia (the Content Forum). Both code of conduct is a crucial part of the advertising regulatory framework as it justifies the mechanism behind industry implementation in any kind of advertising messages intended. Using Sternberg & Lubart (1995) Investment Theory of Creativity, this article analyses the idea behind regulatory bodies' rules, focusing on the role of the contemporary advertising creative quality and whether it generates the ability in moulding freedom or restrictions towards industry players. Through purposive sampling, informants were selected within advertising industry professionals such as advertising agencies and brand experts. The historical context and current state of Malaysia's advertising environment were better understood due to the insights from and in-depth interview conducted between regulatory bodies, brand experts, and advertising agency representatives. Outcome of the findings have developed six key concepts to reflect the challenges such as Relationship between client and advertising agencies, Societal acceptance of the creative work, Invasion of social media in advertising, Limited resources for prestige award submission, Layers of approval authority, and Decreasing creative talent pool within Malaysia.

However, it is an ironic scenario in emerging societies such as Nigeria since there is a lack of studies on the specific gratifications that could buttress the use of email as one of the predominant mediums for enhancing institutional communications. Thus, this study explicitly investigated the gratifications sought in utilizing email in institutional settings by the Nigerian academic staff. The study also explored the types of email addresses mostly preferred for conveying salient information among the Nigerian academic staff. Hence, a qualitative paradigm through the interview approach was employed in this study for soliciting their views on these phenomena. Consequently, the study demonstrated that most of the interviewees prefer to use a personal email address for various reasons. With regards to the gratifications sought in using email, three motives emerged and these were students’ integrative needs, bridging distance needs; and self-career development needs. Therefore, it is recommended that they should unequivocally utilize email for gratifying these motives if they anticipate harnessing other institutional mediums of communication. The findings further proffer insights into factors that could enhance virtual media gratifications, particularly asynchronous ones.

The key difference between them is the Shari’ah-compliant practice that is involved in Islamic advertisements both in content and in their production process. The main purpose of the study was to explore whether selected television stations in Malaysia had adopted the Islamic advertising guidelines issued by the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (JAKIM), a government agency that has the responsibility to oversee Islamic affairs in Malaysia. Additionally, the study investigated the factors influencing the stations’ adoption or non-adoption of the guidelines. The diffusion of innovations theory was used as the theoretical framework of the study which examined the category of adoption of the guidelines the television stations belonged to. The study used a qualitative research design by conducting in-depth interviews with the officers of key television stations such as: Radio Television Malaysia (RTM), Media Prima Television Networks, and TV AlHijrah. The interviews were analysed through thematic analysis that generated several themes and codes. The outcome of the study depicts that only two television stations in Malaysia: RTM and TV Al-Hijrah utilized JAKIM’s guidelines for Islamic advertisements. The results also suggest that not all television stations in Malaysia refer to JAKIM guidelines for their content. It is the role of advertisers, advertising agencies, and the media to ensure that Islamic advertising be practiced creating a more holistic Islamic approach with regards to the marketing of halal products to the Muslim target audience in the relation to the moral dimension and the significance of the halal industry. Not only should the product, price, and place of distribution of products be Islamic, the promotions aspect (advertising) should also be Islamic for the embrace of a truly holistic adoption of Islam in the promotions of halal products.

Nowadays, prospective customers are exhibiting heightened scrutiny when making purchases. Therefore, this study aims to explore the communication factors that hinder the buying and selling process between salespeople and their potential customers, whether it's through physical or online channels. The study involved in-depth interviews with 14 students and graduates of Universiti Utara Malaysia. The interviews were conducted face-to-face, via phone calls on WhatsApp, and using the GMeet platform. The study revealed three main themes: interpersonal communication in relationship building, non-verbal communication, and product-related messages. There were nine sub-themes related to interpersonal communication failures in building relationships, which include unfriendliness, and inability to control emotions. As for non-verbal communication, six sub-themes revealed the salesperson's inadequacy in demonstrating communication skills, including immodest clothing, and failure to maintain appropriate distance. The last emerging theme was ineffective product-related messages, including insufficient business communication aids, and messages unrelated to sales products. The findings of this study can help salespeople improve their communication skills, ultimately enhancing their ability to connect with customers and achieve communication success in a sales context.

To narrate history, the use of AR coupled with short videos can be seen as an innovative strategy to attract visitors and engage them with rich historical events that are related to certain artifacts or displays. Such implementation allows for an interactive and immersive experience, enabling visitors to engage with artifacts and exhibits in ways that extend beyond traditional museum visits. Together, both AR and short videos offer a versatile medium to convey narratives, showcase expert insights, and present behind-the-scenes content. In this paper, the case of the Kota Kuala Kedah Museum, which has successfully implemented AR with short videos as its content, is analyzed. The impact of AR implementation on the museum's ability to attract and retain visitors, particularly in making historical narratives more accessible and engaging, is evaluated. The findings indicate that when used thoughtfully, AR and short videos increase foot traffic and deepen the exhibits' educational impact on visitors, making them more aware of what actually happened at the location hundreds of years back. For this, an interview was conducted with 15 visitors who experienced the AR features, and then content analysis was used to analyze the information. The findings reveal that AR manages to increase the interaction and immersion significantly, allowing the visitors to be more connected to exhibits. In this case, we can conclude that AR was particularly effective in improving the understanding of complex historical events by providing an interactive learning experience. However, technical issues such as glitches and usability challenges were noted, indicating the need for more seamless technology implementation. Nonetheless, this paper highlights the potential of AR to complement traditional exhibits while also emphasizing the importance of balancing digital and physical elements to maximize visitor satisfaction and educational value.

However, with the rapid changes of the modern era, many ICH items are facing varying degrees of vulnerability. Alarmingly, some of these cultural treasures have even disappeared before they could be officially recognized. Against this challenging backdrop, the digital preservation and dissemination of ICH have emerged as critical issues that demand attention from every country. In an effort to reveal the current state, key research topics, and emerging frontiers in the field of ICH digitization, this study explores the status and developmental trends of intangible cultural heritage digital communication in China through a bibliometric analysis. By leveraging CiteSpace to analyze 807 publications spanning the years 2006 to 2023, the study identifies three distinct developmental phases in the digitization of ICH: an initial phase characterized by slow growth, a subsequent period of rapid expansion, and a more recent phase marked by the broadening of research themes. Over time, the research focus has gradually shifted from basic preservation efforts to the incorporation of cutting-edge technologies such as new media and big data. Although the majority of studies remain concentrated within a limited number of universities and research institutions, and cross-institutional collaboration is relatively scarce, there is nonetheless a clear and promising trend toward greater diversity and depth in this research area. This evolution underscores the growing importance of advancing both theoretical and practical approaches to the digitization of intangible cultural heritage.

In the media, women are liberated from being objectified and empowered with who they are and how they feel. Eventually they have become active labour for capitalists, hence feminism has been commodified.

women with regard to the Korean wave?
As Muslims, the Malay women do exercise self- control and moderate in their lifestyles.
the curve of infection.
The guideline will facilitate all stakeholders involved - interns, host company and university - to understand the limitations of an online internship and work together to ensure a mutually
beneficial internship programme for all.

furthermore, it occurs during the enforcement of MCO. Indeed, this study is expected to contribute to the SM field and health science and well-being studies to motivate future generations on how to overcome depression and mental health during a global pandemic.
and WILEY Online Library to locate relevant studies, select studies, chart the data, and collate reporting the results.
Therefore, online health coaching can be one of the new yet practical approaches in terms of labour-, time- and cost-effectiveness to improve the health systems, thus, enhance the quality of life of an individual.

aware of the idea of mediated women as commodity in the selling business? Drawing from the post-feminist media culture, a focus group
interview with six female editors of women magazines was conducted to unfold the commodification of women’s agency by image producers. Beauty and brain emerged as the major theme from the discussion. All published images have been projected towards upgrading women’s position in the society and being exemplary to the audience.
