Diagnosis of such ailment is highly necessary for effective control measures. In addition, promising molecular tools are warranted for efficient epidemiological tracing of the outbreaks. The study was focused on the elucidation of phase variable cytadhesin protein gene (pvpA) of MG through cloning and expression analysis. A set of primers targeting the pvpA gene of MG was designed. The complete pvpA gene was amplified and cloned into pUC-derived expression vector pRSETA. Finally, the recombinant clones were examined through colony PCR and restriction endonuclease (RE) analysis with EcoR1 and BamH1 enzymes followed by sequencing. Lumpy skin disease is a transboundary viral disease that affects cattle and buffaloes. It is caus... more Lumpy skin disease is a transboundary viral disease that affects cattle and buffaloes. It is caused by lumpy skin disease virus (LSDV) of genus Capripoxvirus and Poxviridae family. It is now spreading in a rapid pace in many countries especially in South Asia. The primarily noticeable symptoms of the disease include a lump like formation on the outer skin and mucosal membrane of buffaloes and cattle. It is an arthropod vector borne disease. LSD causes high morbidity and low to moderate mortality in the affected herd. It also often causes abortion in pregnant animal and infertility in male. Milk production is also reduced in affected milch animals. Strict quarantine, control of vector population and vaccination are some of the effective precautionary measures to control the ailment. Present mini-review highlighted various risk factors, transmission, clinical signs as well as precautionary measures to control LSD.
People in current times suffer from several long- term health issues like blood pressure fluctuat... more People in current times suffer from several long- term health issues like blood pressure fluctuations, diabetes, heart issues, etc. Currently, there are existing devices for each parameter but buying each is inconvenient and expensive. Also, not all the available devices are non-invasive. With the rise in the number of people being conscious about their health, there is a need to develop a non-invasive device that checks on different health parameters in the human body like blood glucose, thyroid hormone, blood pressure, blood lipids, and heart rate. The idea is to have one single compact device for different parameters, which is as reliable as the existing individual devices and cost-effective. This report includes the research and our device development and implementation with multiple sensors aimed to send and receive signals to-and-from one’s finger depending on the target parameter. The microcontroller is used for processing all the data collected by sensors using relevant software.
The realistic modelling of medical interventions is the key requirement for development of high-f... more The realistic modelling of medical interventions is the key requirement for development of high-fidelity medical simulators. In this work, a parameterized model suitable for real-time haptic feedback of needle interaction with tissue has been developed. The FE based numerical simulations are performed in ABAQUS/CAE and Comsol and then the results are post-processed in MATLAB to develop the parametric model. The obtained parametric model validated through comparison with various literature results. A MATLAB based GUI App has also been developed that utilizes these results and delivers an interface to examine the desired forces for any known needle position/orientation.

We introduce a workflow that can be used to convert volumetric medical imaging data (as generated by Computer Tomography (CT)) to computer-based models where we can perform interaction of tool with the tissue. This process is broken up into two steps: image segmentation and tool-tissue interaction. We demonstrate the utility of this streamlined workflow by creating models of a liver. A FE model for probe insertion has been developed using cohesive elements to simulate the tissue rupture phenomena. FE based simulations are performed and the results are compared with that of various published papers. An analytical model that governs the reaction forces on the needle tip has also been developed. Expressions for reaction forces acting in both axial and transverse directions on a symmetric tip needle and a bevel tip needle are developed. Cement is replaced by Rice Husk Ash in different proportions until 40 percent by weight. Pozzolanic properties of Rice Husk Ash and compressive strength of concrete were investigated. The result shows that Rice Husk Ash has pozzolanic properties. Results also show that concrete with partial cement replacement by Rice Husk Ash has minor strength loss. The results of the investigation confirmed the potential use of this Rice Husk Ash material to produce concrete.

The distribution of electric field within the structure has been obtained using boundary condition for the electric field equations at different dielectric boundaries. The transmission spectrum of the proposed sensor is obtained by transfer-matrix method. Further, the sensitivity for ambient refractive index and temperature has been analysed by observing the shift in resonance wavelengths. The presence of two dips in the transmission spectrum effectively doubles the sensitivity in comparison to the single resonance structure. We have achieved refractive index sensitivity of 5600 nm/RIU and temperature sensitivity of 0.8 nm/ °C, respectively.

The storage capabilities and the speed at which data can be inserted or retrieved play a major role in real time systems. Cassandra and other distributed storage systems are designed to store multiple number of replicas of each data set to ensure availability. However, due to heavy load the replication time may be high and if the system crashes the data integrity would be compromised. In this paper we have built a machine learning model that predicts how the replication time behaves under different read/write workloads. In addition we have shown the outcome of machine learning model which predicts the replication time and also analyses the important parameters which affect replication time the most.

Due to the singular nature of testicular cancers with associated orchiectomy and mortality, it is important to study the molecular basis and genetic underpinnings of this group of cancers across male populations globally. Loop mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP) assay, one of the robust nucleic acid detection platforms, is used especially for rapid disease diagnosis. However, persistent contamination has been the major bottleneck in LAMP which can be eliminated with adoption of appropriate closed-tube formats.Methods: In the present report, two sets of LAMP primers targeting omp2b gene of Brucella were designed and standardized for detection of all the major Brucella spp. Result: There was absence of amplification in any of the non-Brucella species in contrast to detection of white precipitation in unaided eye in daylight as well as greenish fluorescence under ultraviolet light in all of the Brucella species.
