As the Case Study is understood, the requirements of the IT Operations will be exposed, then these requirements will form a common basis for discussion, exploration and understanding. The Case Study will form the basis of a number of tutorials. You will build a Case Study portfolio week to week for submission at end of semester. Objectives The objectives of this Case Study are : 1. to give students an understanding of the complexities of IT Operations 2. to give students and tutors a common basis for classroom discussion and exercises 3. to define a Case Study Production baseline. 4. to place an IT operation department in an organisational perspective 5. to allow creativity in defining the organisation sub-hierarchies Tutorial preparation-Due at start of Week 3 Tutorial 1. The Under Milkwood case study gives a brief overview of the company. Interestingly enough, much of the company hierarchy is missing. In particular, the sub departments of IT Operations Department are missing as well as most of the development departments. Your task is to understand the given information and formulate the department hierarchy, ie an Organisation chart reflecting accountability. 2.
