Hana Kallus
I enjoy working with authentic data and like analyzing material in the search for what and how speakers use language means to increase their persuasiveness. Using methods typical for sociolinguistics and critical discourse analysis I look mainly at politeness and modality. In methodology, my current interests are teaching legal English, developing ESP courses, and training soft skills. I successfully developed and implemented with my colleagues a methodology on how to use video conferencing in the classroom effectively. I introduced information and communications technology (ICT) in classrooms to inspire, teach, and train teachers/students by utilizing up-to-date IT tools and techniques. My credentials include creating and implementing course syllabi and materials, developing lesson plans, creating learning materials, and hiring/training new teachers. Currently, I serve as an assistant professor, methodology trainer, and consultant. I have proven expertise in teaching English linguistics and methodology in pre-service and in-service teacher training.I have also experience in management, as a vice director of a big Language Centre by directing more than 100 people, recruiting teachers, and managing national and international projects, and previously as a head of an English Language Department.
