It decreases the incidence of complications of hepatitis C virus. Assess dietary history, anthropometric measurement, and biochemical evaluation that interfere with nutritional well-being, and prognosis of hepatitis C virus patients. Moreover, it is the first step in planning the nutritional support for patients with hepatitis C virus. Therefore, the aim of this study was conducted for nutritional assessment of patient with hepatitis C virus in the compensated stage. Methods descriptive research design was utilized in the outpatient clinic of Liver Disease Unit at Main Mansoura Hospital. The data were collected from 60 adult patients of both sexes randomly selected according to inclusions criteria. Results 36.7 % of the patients were in the age group of 41-years with mean age 39±9.43. Females constituted 50% of the subject of the study. Mean and stander deviation of mid arm circumference is considered as 32.4 ± 5.4 while body mass index is considered as 28.1 ± 4.2. Conclusions anthropometric measurements play a key role in the nutritional assessment of patients with hepatitis C virus. It is very important to assess presence or absence of gastrointestinal problem and signs and symptoms of malnutrition that affects on daily intake.

Aim of the study: Evaluate the effect of educational instructions on knowledge of patients with ulcerative colitis. Methodology: Quasi-experimental design was conducted at inpatient and outpatient clinic in Specialized Medical Hospital at Mansoura University. Purposive sample of 50 patients who were willing to participate in the study according to inclusion and exclusion criteria. Tool: One tool structured questionnaire sheet was used in this study. Results: The present study showed statistically significant improvement in patient's knowledge level noticed in posttest and follow up after implementation of educational instructions. Conclusion: The study concluded that there was a positive effect of educational instructions on improving knowledge level among ulcerative colitis patients. Recommendation: It was recommended that all ulcerative colitis patients have access to a basic-colored educational leaflet published in simple Arabic language

It is estimated that in 2010 there were globally 285 million people (approximately 6.4% of the adult population) suffering from this disease. Therefore, the aim of the study was to evaluate the effect of instructional learning package on knowledge and self-care of diabetic patients at mansoura university hospital. Setting The study was conducted at endocrine department at specialized medical hospital, Mansoura University, Egypt. Tools, three tools were used (1) Demographic characteristics and medical history interview sheet, (2) Patients' knowledge Questionnaire for DM, (3) Self-care of diabetic patient's questionnaire. Methods Quasi-experimental research design was used in this study. Knowledge and Self-care of diabetic patients' questionnaire was designed after the literature review. A purposive sample of sixty adult male and female patients were included in this study admitted through a period of 6 months from January, 2019 to June, 2019 diagnosed with diabetes mellitus confirmed by diagnosis in patient file. Results The results revealed that the total mean score for patient knowledge about disease and patient self-care were higher in the post intervention more than the pre intervention. The total mean score for patient foot care was higher in the post intervention than the pre intervention. The total mean score for insulin self-administration was higher in the post intervention than the pre intervention.

Education enables hemodialysis patients overcome interdialytic weight gain, correct the nutritional habit, improve knowledge, and awareness. Aim of the study: to evaluate effect of hemodialysis patientsˊ knowledge related to types of food rich fluid on interdialytic weight gain among hemodialysis patients. Method: quasi experimental study design was used. Setting: New General Mansoura Hospital. Purposive sample of this study composed of 70 adult hemodialysis patients who met inclusion criteria included in this study. Tools: two tools used in this study, hemodialysis patients' knowledge questionnaire about types of food rich fluid & interdialytic weight gain measurement. Results: the result revealed significant improvement in hemodialysis patients' knowledge related to types of foods rich fluid which was poor (mean ± SD = 2.17± 2.25) during pre test, and good (mean ± SD = 6.78± 2.24) during poet test. There was significant reduction of interdialytic weight gain. Conclusion: increase hemodialysis patients knowledge about types of foods rich fluid has a positive effect on reduction interdialytic weight gain.
