However, there is few studies discussed the relationship and differences between destination image and travel constraints among people from different nations representing different cultures, not mention to understand potential culture influence on destination images and travel constraints. The youth tourism market was shown its significance from economic, social as well as cultural benefits to the destinations and the tourists. Studies showed that the young tourists usually traveled longer and more frequently than other segments of markets. This study was conducted to identify the young international travelers' perception of a Muslim destination and the perceived travel constraints from cross-cultural perspective via Taiwan and America. There are three purposes of this study is threefold. First, this study is conducted to identify the perceptions of the youth market resulting from a Muslim destination image and associated travel constraints. Second, this study intends to depict the relationship between destination image and travel constraints as perceived by the young travelers cross cultural comparativeness. Third, to observe the Muslim cultures influence on the destination image and culture constraint for young international travelers.

Most people are interested solely in how much money is invested in and how much is earned from gambling. Therefore, we easily ignore the social cost of gambling. This paper investigates previous studies on the social implications of gambling from the history of gambling development in America. We can find out how gambling affected the individual and the society. The main issues studied in this paper include: the motivation and characteristics of individual gambling behavior; the attributes of gambling people; the process of becoming a compulsive gambler; the influences of legalized, licensed gambling and law enforcement; and the different gauges of gambling from the aspects of the local community, governments, private enterprises, land speculation and anti-gambling groups. Finally, there are some recommendations concerning gambling policy. At the local commun...

It can assist in explaining services provided by the parks, the ecosystem of the area and management regulations emanating from the national parks' headquarters. Bricker and Kerstetter (Leisure Sci. 22 (2000) 233) point out that there is a relationship between tourists' involvement and place attachment. Therefore, this study uses the interpretation service of five National Parks in Taiwan as an empirical study to create a relationship model for tourists' involvement, interpretation service quality and place attachment. Data from over 2400 tourists attending the reserved interpretation were collected from January to December 2002. The response rate was almost 70%. In this study, a structural equation model is used for theory testing and development. We present a comprehensive two-step modeling approach that employs sequential w 2 difference tests in specification, assessment of fit and respecification of measure model using confirmatory factor analysis. The results show tourists' involvement has a positive significant effect on perceived interpretation service quality, as does place attachment. Also, there is an indirect positive significant effect from place attachment to interpretation satisfaction. Additionally, the study provides some strategic management suggestions for the Taiwan national park service to improve the personal interpretation design of the parks.

This study examines the perception gap between blogs and destination marketing organizations (DMOs) promotions by introducing a four-quadrant diagnostic tool: the Perception-Promotion Matrix (PPM). This case study collected data from 168 domestic and 64 international blogs, and

Three data mining procedures were used in this research. First of all, researchers used the RFM (the recent year of traveling abroad, the frequency of traveling abroad and the monetary value spent on traveling abroad) model to identify valuable travelers. A C4.5 decision tree was then applied to discover the tourist characteristics of valuable travelers, such as demographics, buying and decision-making behavior patterns, and destinations visited. A market basket analysis then mined the travelers' preferred destination for the next possible foreign destination via cross-selling. The results of the C4.5 decision tree indicated several tourist characteristics that will be the criteria for distinguishing high value travelers from low value travelers. The results of the market basket analysis suggest that Asian count...

Such a service can assist in explaining the services provided by the parks, the ecosystem of the area and the management regulations from the parks. However, the interpretation function has limits and becomes an obstacle due to the limited interpretation budget and personnel. This study uses Taiwan National Parks as a case study to analyze the travelers' characteristics, including the demographic statistics, tourist specialization, tourist involvement and life style, as well as their satisfaction on the guided interpretation tour. Travelers were grouped into five clusters by tourist involvement to better understand the travelers' characteristics and to help build up the personal interpretation management suggestions for each cluster. The study results can help National Parks to have a better picture of the travelers' perception in relation to the personal guided interpretation tours provided by the Park. Furthermore, the study results will be a valuable contribution for improving the personal interpretation design of the Park.

The results of the market basket analysis suggest that Asian countries are the preferred cross-selling destination for Taiwanese outbound travelers.

The results of factor analysis and a 2-step cluster analysis of 428 wine tourists at the Shin-Yi and Shu-Sheng wineries showed that wine tourists can be categorized into 3 groups: conservative, hedonistic, and reward seeking. Our findings may assist Taiwanese winery owners to utilize marketing strategies that consider the lifestyle and cultural values of wine tourists, so that the appeal of the wines and wineries will be increased.

In order to increase the service capacity efficiency on check-in, security checks, and customs clearance, the Ministry of Transportation and Communications R.O.C. (MOTC), Taiwan, rerouted the airport traffic flow by implementing the in-town check-in (ITCI) concept to decrease crowding in the airport waiting hall. This research examined the structure of critical success factors (CSFs) for ITCIs, deriving three hierarchies of three dimensions, eight criteria, and 18 evaluation indexes from the previous literature, expert interviews, and analysis results from Analytic Network Process (ANP) via Super Decisions software. The three CSF dimensions were: first-level hierarchy “advantageous environments,” followed by “marketing” and “service value,” which is a second-level hierarchy. The study concluded that the third level item of “transferred vehicles system...
