This activity aims to design and build a digital stopwatch prototype for laboratory practice activities. The design of the equipment circuit was then made a digital stopwatch prototype and applied to the practical implementation of the MCGG52 type overcurrent relay for laboratory activity in the electrical engineering laboratory at the Faculty of Engineering, Atma Jaya University Makassar. The practical activity to record the operating time of the MCGG52 overcurrent relay using a digital stopwatch was successfully carried out with results that met the working standards of the MCGG52 relay

However, people tend to pay less attention to the savings in the use of electrical energy for lighting in the house, both at night and during the day. When leaving the house empty, in general, the porch light is on all day and night. This is a common thing for the community, but they unconsciously waste the use of electrical energy which will cause an increase in electricity bill bills. To increase knowledge for the community about the importance of saving electrical energy, in this community service counselling will be carried out on saving electrical energy by using automatic, energy-saving lamps. Counselling is done by visiting people's homes to explain the benefits of saving electricity for them. Then distribute and install energy-saving lamps with light sensors. One of the negative impacts of low R290 charge within the air conditioning system is the lower ev... more One of the negative impacts of low R290 charge within the air conditioning system is the lower evaporator temperature which is easily frost forming at the evaporator pipe. One way to increase the evaporator temperature is to add R600a into the system. The methodology of this present research is a theoretical analysis of performance pure R290 and R290 – R600a blend with experimental analysis of 120 g charge R290 within a 3/4 PK ir conditioning system as the comparison. The results show that increasing the percentage of R600a in the R290 – R600a blend increases the COP but decreases the cooling capacity. Increase the percentage of R600a also decreases the superheat at the outlet of the compressor which is a negative point of increasing the percentage of R600a.

Therefore, many people want to buy at prices that are more expensive than ordinary drinking water. The price of alkaline drinking water is quite expensive on the market because it has a greater pH than ordinary drinking water. Regular drinking water has a pH between 7.0 and 7.5 while alkaline water has a pH of around 7.6 to 9.5. In order for the community to process alkaline drinking water independently at home, counseling is needed through community service. In this service, people are taught to use simple technology to process ordinary drinking water into alkaline drinking water with a pH of more than 7.5. The technology used is water electrolysis technology. The method used is direct practice using connected vessels. Some customers are interested in using electricity-saving devices that are widely marketed in online stores. The electricity saver is marketed with a promotion that can save electricity power consumption and monthly account bills of 10% to 40%. This research was conducted using electricity-saving devices in households with installed power of 450 VA and 900 VA for 6 months and made an inductive load simulation circuit paralleled with an electric saver. The results of the analysis of the account data show that the electricity saver cannot reduce the electricity account rate. In the simulation circuit shows that the electric saver cannot reduce the active power consumption of the load but can reduce the reactive power of the load while improving the installed power capacity and power factor. The negative impacts of synthetic refrigerant on the environment are ozone depletion and global w... more The negative impacts of synthetic refrigerant on the environment are ozone depletion and global warming. In spite of all the new refrigerants has no ozone depletion potential (ODP), only the existing refrigerant R22 has ODP as 0.055, however, the global warming potential of the new refrigerants are high. Therefore the use of environmentally friendly refrigerants is a must. Propane (R290) and isobutene (R600a) are environmentally friendly refrigerants as the refrigerants have no ODP and negligible GWP. R290 is more efficiently than R22 because R290 has higher COP. One should be noted of two refrigerants, R290 and R600a is their flammability. Therefore, the amount of R290 or R600a should be minimized in refrigeration or air conditioning system. This research is conducted experimentally and theoretically comparing the effect of physical properties on the heat transfer process of the low mass of R290 and R290-R600a blends. An increase in vapor quality decreases the convective heat transfer coefficient. This is due to the decrease in thermal conductivity and specific heat of the refrigerant with an increase in the vapor quality. R290 has the highest convective heat transfer coefficient while 60%R290-40%R600a blend has the lowest convective heat transfer coefficient.
This paper describes a novel of power system stabilizer (PSS) based on fuzzy logic theory for dam... more This paper describes a novel of power system stabilizer (PSS) based on fuzzy logic theory for damping electromechanic oscillations focusing on inter-area modes of South Sulawesi power grid. An innovative approach for the determination of associated domains considered with the fuzzy logic power system stabilizer (FLPSS) is obtained by computer simulations when subjected to small disturbances under stressed operating conditions. The digital simulation results show that proposed controller proves its effectiveness in term of calculation process rather than optimal power system stabilizer and improves system damping compare to lead-lag controller under MATLAB Simulink environment.

Stability factor in such system is very important in which stability analysis is used to define whether the rotor of interconnected generators may be still in their synchronize speed after disturbance was happen or may loss their synchronization speed. Disturbance on power system could create electro-mechanics oscillation. One may damp such oscillation using power system stabilizer. The Multi-Band Power System Stabilizer (MB-PSS) is a concept to reduce oscillation effectively due to disturbances to avoid loss of synchronization. This paper investigate and analyze the use of MB-PSS as a damping system in South Sulawesi power grid through a digital simulation study. The simulation result shows that MB-PSS could works nicely and more effective compare to generic PSS and may use to enhance system stability of South Sulawesi power grid.

This paper presents novel of power system stabilizer in which intend to investigate and observe t... more This paper presents novel of power system stabilizer in which intend to investigate and observe the oscillation due to disturbances then define power angle difference on South Sulawesi grid. The symmetrical three phase fault and single phase fault to ground have been implemented and results show that the 150 kV of South Sulawesi grid tend to reach the limit of transient stability and then subject to be out of synchronization. This problems needs to be undertaken by using Flexible AC Transmission Systems (FACTS) to ensure transient stability of the system. The FACTS may works well for reducing oscillation to enhance transient stability phenomena of 150 kV South Sulawesi grid.
