RATNO LUKITO, a professor of comparative law at the Faculty of Shariah and Law, State Islamic University Sunan Kalijaga, Yogyakarta, Indonesia. His masters from the Department of Islamic Studies, McGill University, and doctoral from the Institute of Comparative Law, Faculty of Law, McGill University Montreal, Canada. He took his postdoctoral studies in 2009-2011 under the auspices of Van Vollenhoven Institute, Faculty of Law, Leiden University, and SPIN-KNAW Postdoctoral Program, the Netherlands. A fellow of the American Institute for Indonesian Studies (AIFIS).
